I saw on TV the other day, women having pen pal with convicted convicts in the us. Some even went as far as to visit them in the prison and marrying them. So I am asking women, would you date a murderer?

I believe women who date convicted murderers have a serious problem. They are drawn to the dark side of humanity, and believe that they can 'fix' the murderer somehow. But they are deluded, and need counselling because they seem to have self-destructive urges (maybe this is the type of scenario Freud was envisaging when he coined the term thanatos).

I think your analysis is a little bite too harsh, "miss Freud". There are people in prison who kill by accident, don't you think they deserve to have relationship with women?

Omos: What you usually see featured in those documentaries are women who have relationships not with someone who killed one person, possibly by accident, but with convicts who have murdered several people. And this is exactly where the controversy stems from, and also, I think, what attracts those women to the murderers: the belief that they can "fix" these broken individuals by giving them love. Granted, there may be similar scenarios where the convict is not a brutal killer, but I never see them featured on TV. Of course in this case, a relationship between the convict and the woman is less controversial, because he is not a murderer per se, you would call it manslaughter, I think. But when you started this thread I automatically assumed you were talking about the controversial relationships featured in many documentaries, whereby the convict is a murderer who killed people on purpose, but the woman "loves" him nevertheless.
