Okay, I am SO torn regarding this issue. On the one hand, I think it's horrible to kill a budding life, and I don't like the thought of it at all. On the other hand, some kids are born to such terrible parents that you can't help but wonder if it had been better to get an abortion instead... Being a Christian, I do not condone the murder (because that's what it ultimately is) of your child. But many kids are subjected to maltreatment, abuse and worse, simply because their parents don't care about them or don't even want them. That makes me so sad. What's worse, a percentage of such children goes on to become criminal offenders, causing other people harm, and sometimes maltreat their own kids. Thus the cycle is perpetuated. I really don't know if there is an answer to this question. Or does anyone have it?

Abortion for some, miniature flags for other. ;D
Seriously though, I do not think there is anything wrong with abortion. Imagine a married woman raped by some criminals or a woman that is told by her GP that her unborn child is physically and mentally disabled. would abortion not be right in this circumstance? I think it would.

Omos: you're right, in the case of profound disability, it is legal to abort anyway. I didn't think of that. But how about if it's a healthy child? And about the rape thing - I admit it's a tough one, but it seems wrong somehow that the child should have to pay for the crime by being killed.

Miscarriages happens all the time to every woman that can conceive, So don't be so dramatic about it. Would you not call that a form of abortion? So you see nature has its own way of killing unborn children.

Yes, but nature only aborts children when there is something wrong with them. 9 times out of 10 a natural miscarriage is due to the fact that the foetus is malformed and would not be able to survive. I'm talking about aborting healthy foetuses, not malformed ones.

Can you verify that statistic of: 9 times out of 10 a natural miscarriage is due to the fact that the foetus is malformed and would not be able to survive.

6 out of 10 or 9 out of 10, the deference is clear.

6 out of 10 or 9 out of 10, the deference is clear. Yeah yeah yeah, you wanna start number crunching now? I did say that I made a mistake. My point is, I'm not sure whether we should purposely kill a healthy unborn child, just because it's inconvenient to the parents. Anybody ever heard of condoms??? (That excludes rape). Also, I think it's a disgrace that Catholic people are being told that condoms and birth control in general is evil, only for them to dump their newborns in the trash or abandon them in the street (see Mexico). That is a crime against humanity.
